On Wednesday 30 November, 1960 a bushfire destroyed one of Western Australia’s oldest family homesteads.
Interestingly, on Thursday 1 December, the day the Daviliak Homestead fire was reported in the West Australian newspaper, Sanitarium Health Food Co. re-opened their Murray Street branch after a disastrous fire on the top floor.
