Each year the WA Quilters Association (WAQA) issues a challenge to its members to produce a quilt reflecting a given theme.
The theme for the WAQA Challenge 2023 was ‘Guilty Pleasures’.
The quilts will be on display from 9-30th January at Spearwood Library so pop in and enjoy the creativity of these quilters.
The quilt challenge is an opportunity to use a favourite technique or experiment with something new on a small scale.
Quilts may be traditional, contemporary, modern, or avant-garde.
The quilt can be hand and/or machine worked and can include: piecing, appliqué, embroidery, and embellishments.
We encourage quilters of all levels of skill to enter as the quilts are not formally judged and it is wonderful to see how many different interpretations we can get from a single theme.
The quilt pictured opposite of a Kingfisher was part of our previous display.
