Meet the team from Cockburn Libraries!
Our next team member is Melody.
As Branch Support Librarian, I contribute to roster management, pays, collection management, purchase requests, team management and development, library events and programs, tech support for staff and customers, and gym motivation ????
At home, I quite enjoy watching the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
When and why did you begin working in a library? I began my library career around 2012 when I was struggling to entertain my children and finally took them to the library for the first time! I read a lot, but hadn’t used a library since I was young, so it was an excellent surprise to realise that people could actually work and earn a living in such a fabulous place. Once I made this remarkable discovery – it was a mere 2 years later that I had completed my Library Technician’s course and started work at a TAFE library, followed quickly by the opening of the new Success Library. I’d like to say I have never looked back, but a short blip in my judgement had me leave around the end of 2017 – only to swiftly return in January 2018!
Favourite thing about working in a library? Getting to select new books, movies and comics, and helping customers learn about all of the different services we offer!!
A book you recommend? The Immortal Prince by Jennifer Fallon
Your favourite place to relax and read? In bed at night or with a coffee in the morning.

FUN FACTS!
This is my hometown library in Bowen, North Queensland – with Murals painted on the walls in 1988 for the Bicentennial celebrations.

My favourite place to relax and read is also in bed at night or with a coffee in the morning.
Thank you for being part of the great team at Success Library.
