Energy Audit Kit Conditions of Use
- The loan period for the energy audit kit is 7 days with no renewal.
- Only Cockburn Library patrons 18 years or older are permitted to borrow an energy audit kit. Individuals aged between 8 – 18 years old may use the energy audit kit under direct supervision of the person borrowing the kit. You may be liable for damage or loss to items in the kit.
- The energy audit kit must be collected from and returned directly to staff at the front counter at the Cockburn Libraries. It must be returned to the same branch library it was borrowed from.
- A staff member will check all equipment and contents prior to the kit being loaned and checked again when returned.
- To achieve the best-possible auditing results, it is highly recommended that borrowers go to www.switchyourthinking.com/energy to watch the energy audit kit instructional video.
- It is the responsibility of the borrower to ensure that the thermal camera is fully charged and the basin flow measuring cup is clean and dry before being placed back into the case.
- To ensure all other equipment and printed materials are placed in the kit before returning it to the Cockburn Libraries, refer to the checklist provided in the document holder.
- There is no upfront charge associated with borrowing the energy audit kit. However, if the equipment is lost or destroyed while in your possession, you may be required to cover any and all costs associated with the replacement of the lost/damaged equipment. Please be aware that items in the kit are very costly to replace.
- Customers will need a current membership to City of Cockburn Libraries to be eligible to borrow the kit.
