This Little Joey

The Children’s Book of the Year Awards – Notable Book

This little joey was returned at Success Library, and like all cute board books, I had a flick through it. Given the title had Joey in it and the cover had a kangaroo, I was under the impression that it was a book about a joey kangaroo.

But I was today year’s old when I learnt that joey is not just a term for a baby kangaroo. I discovered this when I flicked open the first page and was confused to see a wombat. Each page then goes on to highlight a cute little fact about the different types of joeys.

It is such a cute book, and a book that you can learn something from (unless everyone already knew this, and I live under a rock) is always an added bonus.
