This popular sci-fi YA book series is being made into a film by Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Kung Fu Panda 2 and 3), Chad Hodge (Wayward Pines) and the producers of Stranger Things.

“When teens mysteriously develop powerful new abilities, they are declared a threat by the government and detained. Sixteen-year-old Ruby, one of the most powerful young people anyone has encountered, escapes her camp and joins a group of runaway teens seeking safe haven. Soon this newfound family realizes that, in a world in which the adults in power have betrayed them, running is not enough and they must wage a resistance, using their collective power to take back control of their future.” – official synopsis of The Darkest Minds (20th Century FOX)

The Australian release date for the movie is August 16 so you have a couple of weeks to get started on the series (I think it’s always better to read the book first! Agree?). Click on the book covers to reserve a copy!
