10 (plus 2) new anime titles to watch @ Success Library

Despite winter being almost over the bad weather continues to rage outside and we’ve all still got the cold to prove it. Do you need something to keep you sane while you’re shut up indoors? As if an excuse is even necessary! In any event, it’s just the right time for another Anime Update.

Let’s start with a few new feature length titles we’ve acquired:

In this Corner of the World

In this Corner of the World

“Set in Hiroshima during World War II, an eighteen year old girl gets married and now has to prepare food for her family despite the rationing and lack of supplies. As she struggles with the daily loss of life’s amenities she still has to maintain the will to live.”

Sword Art Online The Movie - Ordinal Scale

Sword Art Online : the movie – Ordinal Scale

“In 2026, a next-gen wearable device, the Augma doesn’t have a full-dive function like its predecessors. Instead, it uses Augmented Reality (AR) to get players into the game. It is safe, user-friendly and lets users play while they are conscious, making it an instant hit on the market. The most popular game on the system is “Ordinal Scale” (aka: OS), an ARMMORPG developed exclusively for the Augma. Asuna and the gang have already been playing OS for a while, by the time Kirito decides to join them. They’re about to find out that Ordinal Scale isn’t all fun and games…”

Genocidal Organ

Genocidal Organ

“In Genocidal Organ, while developed countries rely on advanced surveillance to free them from the threat of terrorism, other nations are plagued by genocide within their own borders. Strangely, these massacres all link back to one American by the name of John Paul. Special agent Clavis Shepherd is sent to capture the target, but nothing can prepare this soldier, or the world for the truth behind humanity’s darkness.”

Now for some new series I’m sure you’ll enjoy. Some are first seasons, some are complete series:

Attack on Titan – season 1

Attack on Titan – Season 1

“Many years ago, the last remnants of humanity were forced to retreat behind the towering walls of a fortified city to escape the massive, man-eating Titans that roamed the land outside their fortress. Only the heroic members of the Scouting Legion dared to stray beyond the safety of the walls, but even those brave warriors seldom returned alive. Those within the city clung to the illusion of a peaceful existence until the day that dream was shattered, and their slim chance at survival was reduced to one horrifying choice: kill – or be devoured!”

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-blooded Orphans – Season 1

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-blooded Orphans – Season 1

“A group of child soldiers, Mikazuki Augus, Orga Itsuka, and several others, are sent to protect a young aristocrat seeking to liberate a Martian city from Earth’s rule. When an outside force threatens those involved, Mikazuki must head into battle using a war-era relic, the Gundam Barbatos.”

First Love Monster

First Love Monster

“High schooler Kaho Nikaido is having trouble adjusting to her new life in Tokyo. It doesnt get any easier when she is nearly hit by a truck and saved by the handsome Kanade Takahashi! Infatuated with Kanade, she works up the courage to confess. But he warns that if Kaho learns who he is, she won’t want him. What could possibly keep her from this stud? Maybe the fact that he’s a fifth grader?!”

Cheer Boys!!

Cheer Boys!!

“Catch an exciting new take on the high-flying team sport, inspired by a real all-male squad in Japan. When Haruki Bando and his friend Kazuma leave judo martial arts, no one would have guessed they would turn to cheerleading! Rocking the college campus with a killer routine, these amateurs manage to draw in a crowd and enough new members to compete in regionals.”

And a few additional volumes to some of our ongoing series:

Lastly, I don’t usually make a mention of titles that have gone “missing” and been replaced but the following two are worth the reminder that we have them back.

Actually, there is one last, last thing …

Don’t forget our next Anime Arvo is coming up soon.
