Piggies

Hello story-timers! Hope you’ve all had a wonderful holiday and are ready to get back into Storytime next week.

Pigs is the theme this time round. Who doesn’t like a good pig related story? Piggy storytime has always been lots of fun and the theme lends its self nicely to piggy role playing : oinking, squealing and rolling in the mud. Good times.

the three little pigs

The three little pigs / Nick Sharratt

“To build a house,” the third pig said, “I know the thing to choose. Not straw or sticks, but solid bricks. Yes, they’re the things to use.” It’s the three little pigs, but not as you know it! Parents and children alike will love this charming retelling of the classic fairy tale with lots of creative lift-the-flap surprises. Also in this series: Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and Jack and the Beanstalk. – back of book.

wolf wont bite

Wolf won’t bite! / Emily Gravett

Take your seat in the front row and watch in wonder as three cheeky little circus pigs make a wild wolf jump through hoops (literally), endure feats of astounding derring-do, and even withstand perilous games of dress-up. Safe in the thought that “Wolf Won’t Bite!” they even put their heads between his jaws . . . but can you push a wolf too far? Sure to strike a chord with anyone who has both a pet and a young child, Wolf Won’t Bite! by Emily Gravett is a very funny and playful story with a snappy ending! –back of book.

Can’t go past the classic – This little Piggy!

This little piggy went to market
This little piggy stayed home
This little piggy had cookies
This little piggy had fun
And this little piggy said
“Wee, wee, wee,” all the way home
This little piggy went to market
This little piggy stayed home
This little piggy had roast beef
This little piggy had none
And this little piggy said
“Wee, wee, wee,” all the way home
