Learning English Through Storytime – Success Library

Success Library run special storytimes 4 times a year during school terms for children between the ages of 3 and 5 who do not speak English at home, or who speak limited English. Both child and parent/caregiver attend together as the storytimes are designed to equip them with English language skills before they start kindergarten.

Learning English Through Storytime (LETS) runs for 10 weeks with a different everyday theme planned for each week. This gives children a chance to practise English through songs, rhymes, conversation, guided interactive activities and craft sessions to improve their English skills and confidence.

LETS has been especially popular among new migrants who live in Cockburn as well as surrounding suburbs and by the time each term ends, beautiful friendships are formed with children blossoming out of their shells.

This term’s first session started on the 19th July and we have completed various themes like Me, Weather, Colours, Numbers and Body.
