Hello and welcome to my last Pram Jam Blog for the year. The year has just flown by and it’s Christmas already! It is such a special time of the year for parents and grandparents. For some of you it might be your first Christmas as parents and what a special one it will be. Putting up the tree is great fun for children especially if they have made their own decorations. There are lots of websites to give you ideas on how to make Christmas decorations – including the cinnamon dough made last week. I found this Australian themed Christmas decoration site which looked fun!!

The lead up to Christmas is a lovely time of the year. Taking the children to see Santa and going out to see the Christmas lights. Just watching their faces and the anticipation of Santa coming while they ask “how many sleeps until Santa comes?” There is nothing as special as seeing their faces on Christmas morning when Santa has been.

We have a wonderful collection of  children’s Christmas books and the ones I have selected are:

The very hungry caterpillar’s christmas 123

Hey Baby, it’s Christmas

Hey baby

There are so many beautiful Christmas carols to listen to and sing along to. One of my favourites is:

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Has a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it
You would even say it glows.
All of the other reindeer’s
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games

Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa came to say,
Rudolph with your nose so bright,
Won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?

Then all the reindeer’s loved him,
As they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the red-nose Reindeer
You’ll go down in history!

I would like to take this opportunity to wish each and everyone of you a wonderful, happy and safe Christmas and New Year and I look forward to seeing you all at Pram Jams in 2015.
