At long last, after a very cold winter, summer is finally on its way. You can put the winter clothes away and get the summer shorts and tee shirts out. Mums and dads will be pleased to be able to do outdoor activities during the lazy, hazy days ahead. Mornings are probably the best time to venture out, especially if you are planning to do something outside….that way you can try and beat the heat. Don’t forget to put on the sunscreen before you venture out.

Some ideas for parents:

  • Pack a picnic and visit your local playground……there is a brand new playground which has just opened at Bibra Lake which looks like lots of fun. You can look at the council website to get more information about it.
  • Swimming…..there is always the local swimming pool or the beach but don’t forget to slip, slop, slap.
  • Come and visit your local library…….all of our libraries have children’s activities on during the week.

Time for a rhyme

The rhyme I have picked this month is Five Little Fishes

Five Little Fishes

Five little fishes
Swimming out to sea
Teasing Mr. Shark
“You can’t catch me!”
Along came Mr. Shark
As quiet as can be
SNAP

Four little fishes
Swimming out to sea
Teasing Mr. Shark
“You can’t catch me!”
Along came Mr. Shark
As quiet as can be
SNAP!

Three little fishes
Swimming out to sea
Teasing Mr. Shark
“You can’t catch me!”
Along came Mr. Shark
As quiet as can be
SNAP!

Two little fishes
Swimming out to sea
Teasing Mr. Shark
“You can’t catch me!”
Along came Mr. Shark
As quiet as can be
SNAP!

One little fishes
Swimming out to sea
Teasing Mr. Shark
“You can’t catch me!”
Along came Mr. Shark
As quiet as can be
SNAP!

No little fishes swimming in the sea.

I hope you enjoy reading the books I have selected and I look forward to seeing you all at Pram Jams.
