Hi and welcome to my last Pram Jam Blog for the year. I thought I would talk about music and singing and its benefits. Music brings people together and is everywhere and has such a calming effect on babies and toddlers.  Music and singing also makes people feel happy and is a great way for children to express themselves and release emotions. It is also a great social activity which involves the whole family. Children love to sing and listen to music at home. Most parents will have a favorite bath time/ bed time song or rhyme that your child will want you to sing every day.  Lullabies have been used for years to soothe babies and toddlers. When a lullaby is sung rather than a recorded version it is more effective in calming your baby or toddler. Singing also develops memory and listening skills. If you have a favorite song sing it with your child and see if they can sing it back to you.
