100 most popular junior fiction books

It’s the usual suspects at the the top of the 2018 junior fiction (chapter books) list. Roald Dahl’s classic The BFG finished on top, followed by Jeff Kinney’s tenth Wimpy Kid book, Double Down, and Andy Griffiths’s The 52-storey treehouse.  Those three authors all appear twice in the Top 10, as does J.K. 100 most popular picture books

The Wrong Book by Nick Bland is still proving to be the right book with pre-schoolers, finishing atop the picture book list for the third time in four years (#1 in 2016, 2015,  #2 in 2017 and 2014). 50 most popular junior non fiction books

When it comes to non fiction, Minecraft and LEGO books are extremely popular, but it is The Macmillan encyclopedia of junior science that finished 2018 as the most borrowed item in the Junior Non Fiction collection. Check out the Top 50 most popular non fiction books below.

50 most popular comics & graphic novels for all ages

The first four volumes of Dav Pilkey’s series of Dog Man comics  hold the top four places on the All Ages Graphic Novel list for 2018.  (Dav Pilkey also has eight of his Captain Underpants books in the Junior Fiction Top 100). All time favourites, Geronimo Stilton and Asterix appear multiple times in the Top 50, as does Raina Telgemeier with three of her graphic novels in the Top 50: Sisters (#13), Claudia and mean Janine (#40), and Mary Anne saves the day (#48).
