Children’s Services – Changes to Bookings

WA is now back to Phase 5 of the COVID-19 roadmap, bookings will no longer be required for a variety of programs.

The bookings requirements have changed for our Children’s Services, please have a look below for information on each program.

Pre-school Ages

Pram Jams (Ages 0-2)

Pram Jams (often called Rhyme Time at other libraries) is for babies and their parents, grandparents or carers.  It’s noisy, fun, and a wonderful chance to learn some new songs for bedtime, bath time, or when you’re stuck in the car.

Pram Jams sessions are free. Sessions last approximately 30 minutes.

We have sessions on:

  • Coolbellup – Mondays at 10am (bookings still essential)
  • Spearwood – Thursdays at 10.30am
  • Success – Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10am

Storytime (Ages 2-5)

Come to the library to hear great stories and to join in on songs and rhymes, before you make a masterpiece of craft to take home.

Storytime is free. Sessions last between 45 minutes and an hour.

We have sessions on:

  • Coolbellup – Wednesdays at 10.30am
  • Spearwood – Tuesdays and Fridays at 10.30am
  • Success – Tuesdays and Fridays at 9.30am

Learning English Through Storytime (Ages 3-4)

Do you, or someone you know, have a child 3 to 4 years old who is learning to speak English as an additional language?

Success Library runs special storytimes four times a year for children who do not speak English at home, or who speak limited English.

Success Library, bookings last one term. Book now on the website.

Blokes do Storytime (Ages 2+)

Father figures play a big part in children’s literacy development.

Sharing in reading, language and numeracy activities helps develop children’s brains and fosters positive relationships.

Join us at the library for our special Storytime for blokes.

Saturdays at 10.30am, once a month at Success Library.

Multi-Sensory Storytime (Ages 2+)

Storytime for children on the autism spectrum or with additional sensory needs.

Sessions focus on literacy and school readiness while practising social interaction skills through play and sensory activities.

Monthly at Success – third Monday of the month, 10am

School Age Children

Bookstars (Ages 5+)

Reading session with stories and craft for school aged children. 

Monthly at Success – second Monday of the month, 3.30pm

Creative Kids (Ages 5+)

Creative Kids is time in the library for kids to get creative with LEGO, board games, science, and craft. A different activity each week.

Runs weekly at Coolbellup on Wednesdays at 3.30pm


LEGO Club (Ages 5+)

Monthly LEGO Club meetings where you get a chance to get creative with our extensive LEGO supply.

We have sessions on:

  • Coolbellup, third Wednesday of the month at 3.30pm
  • Spearwood, first Friday of the month at 3.30pm
  • Success, fourth Monday of the month at 3.30pm

STEAM Club @ Coolbellup (Ages 8+)

Explore the world of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics at our weekly STEAM club at Coolbellup Library.

Weekly at Coolbellup Library on Tuesdays at 3.30pm.


STEAM Club @ Success (Ages 10+)

Imagine, invent and innovate with fun and challenging hands-on activities for kids. We will be creating, coding, building, testing, designing, challenging, learning – and even flying through some virtual worlds.

Monthly at Success Library on Thursdays at 3.30pm.
