Children’s Book Week – Book Of The Year Announcement and Flying Thoughts

In two weeks the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) will be announcing this year’s Winner and Honour Books in the Children’s Book Council Book of the Year Awards.

There are six categories:

Above are the notable lists, the final category CBCA New Illustrator of the Year is only included in the Shortlist.

To celebrate the South Australian branch of CBCA has shared the following video.

Cockburn Libraries have been working on reviews for some of the Notable and Shortlisted books since February – you may have seen them posting on Thursdays.

You’ll be seeing even more of them from us in the next two weeks as we prepare for the biggest week of the year – Children’s Book Week!

We have so much happening, including a competition where the 7 main winners will receive a mystery box filled with cool stuff aimed at their age group (0-5, 6-12, 13-18).

Flying Thoughts

We’re not the only ones.

Flying Thoughts is a collection of very short movies made by SA children’s authors and illustrators about their CBCA 2021 favourites.
