All Cockburn Libraries are Closed until further notice

Due to the recent direction from the State Government, in co-ordination with the City of Cockburn, we are notifying our members and the general public that we will be closing all three branches of the Cockburn Libraries until further notice.

The health and safety of our members, the public and staff at Cockburn libraries is our number one priority.

We will be updating our website and social media platforms with information relevant to the library service’s operation and potentially changing scenarios.

For now, we are putting the following measures in place:

  • All library items that are in a member’s possession need to be retained please do not return items to the library premises.
  • All Items on a member’s card will be automatically extended to a date when the library re-opens – To Be Advised.
  • The libraries will be closed, if you have an enquiry that is urgent, please contact us and we will respond as soon as possible.

All of our E-Resources will still be available through our website and apps.

FAQs

Will I have access to books while the libraries are closed?

Unfortunately we cannot provide access to our print collections during the closure period. We encourage to use our online services, available through the library website, to access ebooks, audiobooks, emagazines and other digital services.

Can I still access the digital services?

Yes, you will still be able to access our online services 24/7. Visit our eLibrary.

What happens if I have items on loan?

Loan periods for all items on loan will be automatically extended until the libraries re-open.

Will I be fined if I can’t return my items by the due date?

NO fines will be enforced over the closure period.

What do I do if I want to return an item during the closure period?

Please retain your items at this time. No items can be returned at any branch.

What will happen to the reservation I haven’t picked up yet?

All existing reservations that are waiting to be collected will be held until the libraries re-open.

I had an event booked at one of your libraries. Will this still be able to go ahead?

No, all events are cancelled due to branch closures. Events will be reconsidered and rescheduled when the libraries re-opens.

I normally receive Home Library Service deliveries. Will I still be able to access this service?

No, we will be stopping our Home Library Service during the closure period for the health and safety of our staff and customers.
