Deafness Awareness Training

Friday 19 October 10 am – 12 noon

Coolbellup Library

Being deaf or hard-of-hearing affects people in different ways.

It can range from mild or moderate to total hearing loss. It can be present at birth or acquired later in life. Some people lip-read, others use Auslan (sign language). Some see themselves as Deaf but certainly not disabled.

This workshop will teach you about the spectrum of deafness, differences between the deaf and hearing worlds, and even teach you some important signs in Auslan.
