To celebrate WA Week the State Library of Western Australia is holding a week of public events. Highligths included a  behind-the-scenes tours of the State Library, John Ivan King’s talk about Perth’s lost theatres, and on Thursday a look at WA’s history as seen through the picture books and novels on children’s litearure collection. Need to brush up on your WA history? Look no further than The Historical Encyclopedia of Western Australia which was published by UWA Press earlier this year. Edited by Jenny Gregory and Jan Gothard, and containing contributions from over 500 writers, this comprehensive look at WA comes in at over 1000 pages. Available from each of the Cockburn Libraries.
