Soft scrunchable plastics, polystyrene, aerosol cans and meat trays are no longer allowed in recycling bins in WA, so these items should not be put in your yellow top recycling bin.

What does this mean for you?
In summary:

  • Soft ‘scrunchable’ plastics can be taken to REDcycle bins in major supermarkets.
  •  Aerosol cans can be taken to Henderson Waste Recovery Park or the City of Cockburn Administration (next to Spearwood Library)
  • Meat trays can go in your red top general waste bin.
  • Polystyrene –  Large pieces of polystyrene packaging can be taken to Henderson Waste Recovery Park for compaction and recycling, small pieces can go in your red top general waste bin.
