So I know what you’re all thinking – school’s finished but I want to keep reading all summer holidays and I  want some kind of reward/reason to do so! If that IS what you’re thinking then shame on you all! Shame! I used  to spend my summer holidays reading comics in my swimming pool but that’s me.  I wouldn’t advise it actually. ESPECIALLY not comics from the library.  But I’m getting off topic..

Besides the joy and magic that you get from reading if you participate in the reading challenge listed above than you also get cool stickers, pencils, wristbands and stuff! Anyone from Kindy to Year 7 can participate and anyone who completes the challenge gets a certificate from the premier himself and also goes into the draw to win some VERY cool prizes.

Tickets to see the new Muppets movie! Kobo e-readers! iPod Nanos!! Books from Fremantle Press!! And a holiday for a family to “Explore Western Australian” valued at 6,000$!!!!

Pick up a reading log from any of our branches and get cracking! If you’re in Kindy to Year 3 you need to read 10 hours over the summer (that’s less than 10 minutes a day) and if you’re Year 4 to 7 then you need to read a whopping 15 minutes a day for a total of 15 hours. Pfft – I know that’s easy peasy to you guys.

So come on down – I have thousands of these logs and I want to give them all away.  They’ll be scattered all around our libraries or ask at the front desk! I’d looooove to have some of you win one of those cool prizes!

(Hmmn, can I enter..?)
