What happens after tragedy strikes? Adapted from the bestselling novel by Jo Jo Moyes, Me before you tells a tale of love and survival. It is a beautiful romantic drama and it will bring you to tears.

Wonderful drama with incredible actors.

William Traynor (Sam Claflin) is young, athletic, handsome and full of life. He enjoys all kind of adventures until a tragic accident not only paralyses him but also takes away his desire to live. His parents however, are not ready to give up. They decide to hire caretakers to spend some time with him.

Louisa Clark (Emilia Clarke) is young, pretty and quirky. She lost her job and is desperate for money. She has the most eccentric personality and she loves life.

Despite her lack of qualification, Louisa will meet Will. At first, the road is more than bumpy but who would not fall in love with a woman wearing bee striped leggings?

A tragic but touching story.

Me before you is unexpected. It works because of the great chemistry between Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin. They are perfect together. (I love her in Game of Thrones but she has a totally different personality here and she pulls it off perfectly.) However, the story is quite controversial. Does becoming a quadriplegic mean giving up on life? This part was less than inspiring but I guess the movie would have become predictable otherwise.

William Traynor: I don’t want to go in yet. I just want to be a man who’s been to a concert with a girl in a red dress.

I have to add, and I might be bias because I am French, but The Intouchables on the same topic is the better choice.
