2016 Man Booker Prize Shortlist

The shortlist for the 2016 Man Booker Prize was announced last week, along with the new Man Booker International Prize, awarded to works translated into English.

Let us know what you think of this year’s crop of finalists! The nominated books are notable for being the shortest for some years (335 pages average)  – do you like shorter novels, or do you prefer to sink your teeth into a doorstopper? (last year’s A little life / Hanya Yanagihara was a prime example at 720 pages, and 2013’s The luminaries / Eleanor Catton was the longest ever to win the prize at 832 pages) What about the division between novels published in English, and those translated into it? Which of the shortlisted titles will be on top of your to-read pile this year?
