Jazz music from New Orleans to Chicago and the Swing era

Warm up for winter with some jazz tunes in the library! The Melody Makers are a trio of very experienced jazz musicians.

They will take you on a musical journey that starts in the cradle of jazz, New Orleans. Then you will travel to Chicago and the Jazz Age through to the Swing Era.

This era features jazz greats such as Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong.

The Melody Makers are: Brian Copping (Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute) played with The Glenn Miller Reunion Orchestra, Sammy Davis Junior, Peter Allen and the Will Upson Big Band.

John Healy (Double Bass/Vocals) toured England with the prestigious Max Collie Rhythm Aces. He has also played with many of Perth’s well known Early Jazz and Swing ensembles.

Tony Eardley (Piano) played with many of Perth’s leading groups in most musical genres. Soloist and Accompanist extraordinaire.
