Estelle Blackburn has written two widely acclaimed books: Broken Lives and The End of Innocence. Both of these books give insights into the lives of the last person to be hung in Western Australia: Eric Edgar Cooke and the two men who were wrongly convicted of two of his murders: Darryl Beamish and John Button. Estelle’s persistent and thorough investigation of the flawed prosecution ultimately lead to their successful appeals and releases. Come along and hear this inspirational talk by Estelle Blackburn and find out how she continues to challenge the justice system and help the innocent who have been imprisoned.
