Deadpool is violent, gory, sarcastic and overall tremendously funny.

Deadpool is not like your average superhero. He is not politically correct, he is not nice, he is not handsome, he is not righteous but he does like to kill.

Prepare to be offended.

From the studio that inexplicably sewed his mouth shut the first time comes five-time Academy Award viewer, Ryan Reynolds in an eHarmony date with destiny. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you… me! ~ Deadpool.

After Captain America, Iron-man, Thor, Ant-man and Hulk comes a different kind of Marvel character. Not quite hero but not quite villain either, Deadpool tells the story of Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds). This former special forces is now a mercenary. He lives his life day by day, he has nothing to look forward to until he meets the beautiful  Vanessa Carlysle. He is finally happy but discovers too late that he has terminal cancer. Two choices are offered to him: die a slow and painful death or participate in an underground experiment that might save his life and give him abilities beyond those of mere-mortals. We all know which one he will choose, however not everything goes to plan and after a terrible fire he becomes disfigured. He refuses to go back to Vanessa and instead adopts the alter-ego Deadpool to extract vengeance on those who turned him into this monster. Thanks to his new abilities and his over the top, twisted sense of humor he is sure to succeed or is he?

Deadpool is neurotic, mean and obscene. He makes fun of everyone and everything and that’s why we love him. Ryan Reynolds has played superheroes before and he always fell a bit short but not here. In Deadpool, he is great. The special effects and make-up really accentuate his performance. This movie is a real twist. It is very bloody and violent and it manages to make fun of itself. From the beginning, it is clear that the audience is going to be in for a ride. The format is new and the jokes keep coming (maybe too much).

Crime’s the disease, meet the cure. Okay, not the cure, but more like a topical ointment to reduce the swelling and itch. ~ Deadpool.

Despite being outrageous and different in a lot of ways, Deadpool is still an American blockbuster. Unfortunately, it is still very predictable and corny.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved it but that’s because I love big actions movies filled with explosions, death and humour so if you don’t, then don’t bother.
