TerraPermaLast Saturday, the City of Cockburn Environmental Department hosted the Creating a Kitchen Garden event.

The event was held at Spearwood Library, where Urban food expert, Charles Otway from Terra Perma Design showed how to create a kitchen garden in a courtyard, small backyard or rental property.

Some of the topics covered in the presentation were:

    • How to design a productive kitchen garden for a small space
    • What seeds and plants to grow when, plus how to save them
    • How to build a wicking bed
    • The best options for in-ground garden beds
    • How to manage pests

The notes from the event and heaps of other helpful information is available to download from the Terra Perma Free Workshop Notes page.
