When the automatic borrowing machines were installed, we customers lost a valuable service. The old system identified books that had previously borrowed.
I am told that the new system identifies the actual book, not the publication, and most libraries have duplicates.
Your IT Department prides itself with making itself an essential tool to management, but it seems that this is too hard to solve for
too little recognition.
There is the challenge to be of help to the aged and mentally challenged – for just our thanks.
Hey Peter,
Yes, this has been frustrating for us as well as we have working with the software company for many months trying to get this functionality working on the self-check kiosks.
An update to the software this this month, now allows us to display a ‘you borrowed this before’ message on the self-check kiosks for titles you have already borrowed.
