Community Connect South: Quicker and safer travel between Armadale and Cockburn

Community Connect South seeks $290 million in Federal Government funding for two major road projects to reduce chronic traffic congestion on Armadale Road and in the Cockburn Central area linking two major activity centres and people to jobs:

  • A dual carriageway for the length of Armadale Road. Cost: $130 million
  • A bridge and freeway interchange linking Armadale Road and North Lake Road either directly or via Verde Drive. Cost: $160 million

With the by-election in the Federal seat of Canning on 19 September 2015 and the Federal election looming in 2016, we want to ensure that traffic congestion and the real need for more road infrastructure in the Armadale and Cockburn areas is a major community election issue for this area.

We want local people to join us in increasing pressure on both current Federal and State members of Parliament and future election candidates to help secure vital funding to build these two critical road projects.

Community Connect South is a partnership initiative between the cities of Armadale and Cockburn.

These projects are supported by the National Growth Areas Alliance (NGAA), which represents the interests of Australia’s fastest growing municipalities that are home to four million Australians.
