Readers continue to love crime and thriller novels, and Scott Pape’s The Barefoot Investor tops the non fiction list for the second year in a row.

100 most borrowed fiction books of 2018

Once again thriller and crime novels prove to be popular amongst Cockburn Libraries members, with Lee Child topping the list with his novel The Midnight Line, the 22nd book in the Jack Reacher series. This series proves to be an extremely popular choice, with three books making it in the top 10: The Midnight Line (#1), Night School  (#2), and Personal (#10).  After topping the fiction list in 2017, Australian author Liane Moriarty finishes 2018 with the third most popular book, Truly Madly Guilty . 50 most borrowed non fiction books of 2018

Scott Pape’s The Barefoot Investor: the only Money Guide you’ll ever need tops the non-fiction again this year. The success of Pape’s book can be attributed to his clear and simple writing and sound advice in a climate of financial insecurity for many people. Sarah Wilson appears three times in the Top 10, her look at anxiety, First, we make the beast beautiful : a new story about anxiety  at #3, as well as two of her I Quit Sugar books: I quit sugar : simplicious (#5), I quit sugar : your complete 8-week detox program and cookbook (#6). Gut health is also popular with Michael Mosley’s  The clever guts diet (#2) and Lee Holmes’s Heal your gut(#4) both in the Top 10. Check out the Top 50 most borrowed non fiction books below.

In the world of adult comics, Batman comes out on top with Batman, the Dark Knight : master race written by Frank Miller in first place, but Deadpool comics make up half the Top 10, including Deadpool classic.
