The Red Coast by Di Morrissey – Book review.

The Red Coast is a great read. It follows Jacqui Bouchard as she tries to rebuild her life in Broome after the break up of her marriage. She buys the local book shop and shortly after her arrival the town is plunged into chaos when a corporation announces plans to mine in the area.  The community bands together as they fight to stop the mining development which will destroy both the coast line and sacred indigenous land.

The Red Coast takes readers back to the setting of two of Di Morrissey’s most popular books – Tears of the Moon and Kimberley Sun. If you have read these books you will recognize some of the characters, however this is not a sequel.

Di Morrissey’s description of The Kimberley certainly brings it to life and makes you feel like you are there. I love her books and always look forward to reading her books.
