The gang from better Beginnings were on Today Tonight last night (mouthful) talking about the program and how important it is for your child’s development including previous Cockburn kids librarian Sam Hughes!

If you want to know more about BB the library currently supplies local child care centres with BB bags for parents with newborn children.  If you didn’t get one for some reason come and talk to us and we’ll make sure you do.  Also this year many kindys and pre-primaries in the Cockburn area are getting involved in the BB program.  If you have a child in this age group and if your school has expressed interest they should also be getting their very own BB bag soon as well.

What the Today Tonight report  DIDN’T mention is that BB are celebrating the launch of their new website on Sunday with a special Carnivale at the Perth Cultural centre. It’s from 10-2, admission is free and check out the cool things that will be there;

To celebrate the launch of the new Better Beginnings website,  the State Library of Western Australia will be holding a free family day – Carnivale – in the Perth Cultural Centre and the library on Sunday the 15th of April from 10am to 2pm.
Face painters, stilt walkers, storytellers, live music, shadow puppetry workshops and the Better Beginnings Book Cubby where you can make your own book will all be on offer.

Sounds great! My kids are going and are very excited about the Book Cubby.
