Cockburn Libraries’ 100 most borrowed books for 2011. A dead Swedish author came out on top, and only one Aussie made the top 10, but James Patterson stole the show with four books in the top 10 (and 15 in top 100).

Steig Larsson’s The girl with the dragon tattoo  was the most borrowed book in 2011. Maurice Sendak’s 1963 classic children’s book Where the wild things are made the top 10, coming in a 9. The highest ranked Australian is a West Australian; Tim Winton’s Breath was seventh. The book thief at 11 was the next highest Australian book, while Judy Nunn was the highest ranked Australian female author with Maralinga at 19, followed closely by Floodtide at 21.
