I have seen quite a lot of movies this year. Indeed, I love getting lost into a good story. I’ve laughed watching Despicable me 3, I’ve been inspired by The Zookeeper’s wife, I’ve been scared with Split. I have to say though that Atomic Blonde really puzzled me. It is definitely in my top three of 2017 because the ending is such a surprise.

An intricate and highly interesting plot.

Agent Lorraine Broughton (Charlize Theron) is MI6 best asset. The female version of James Bond, she is a very special spy. At the brink of the Wall of Berlin’s fall, she is sent to Germany to retrieve a piece of information that could endanger many of her colleagues’ life. It must not fall into enemies hands. However, as the plot thickens, we wonder who are the real enemies. Lorraine will stop at nothing for the mission’s success.

Lorraine is given David Percival (James McAvoy) to help her but is he reliable? Who are the traitors that want her dead? In the end, she will have to trust only herself if she wants to survive.

David Percival: There’s only one question left to ask. Who won? And what was the *** game anyway?

Atomic Blonde (2017)
Charlize Theron

An actress that deserves her Oscar.

Charlize Theron proves once again that she is one of the best, if not the best, actress in Hollywood. She can simply transforms. She can easily play a psychopathic serial killer (Monster), a beautiful queen (Snow White and the Huntsman) or a deadly spy (Atomic Blonde).

David Percival: Ironic. The news will tell them there will be no more secrets. But you and I, we both know that’s not true. The world is run on secrets.

This movie is very entertaining. It is action packed and it is clever. Do not hesitate to borrow it from your closest Cockburn Library. You won’t be disappointed.
