Cockburn Libraries were very lucky to have acclaimed author and screenwriter Christian White give a lively talk about his writing and his journey to success on Wednesday 2 October.

Christian White was here to promote his latest novel The Wife and the Widow.
For those who missed him, Christan White is the author of The Nowhere Child, his first book that became one of Australia’s bestselling debut novels ever. An early draft of this novel won the 2017 Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for an Unpublished Manuscript.
Rights to The Nowhere Child have been sold in 17 territories around the world, and were acquired in major screen deals in the US and Australia, which means we can expect to see it as a mini-series quite soon.
To coincide with the book’s publication, Christian is currently on promotional tour and we can’t believe our luck that he decided to include Cockburn Libraries in his itinerary especially since he is also busy working on the feature film Relic.
Over 30 people attended and enjoyed wine and nibbles as well as the talk, afterwards asking many curious questions and having a laugh with Christian who had many funny anecdotes to share. Many people then purchased and had their books signed by the author.
