In the January 2012 issue of The Believer, in the Sedaratives ‘monthly advice column’,   

Anonymous asks: “Are comic books really ‘graphic novels,’ or are they just comic books?” To which guest columnist Beth Littleford responds: “It’s all a matter of perspective… which basically comes down to whether or not you’ve ever had a girlfriend.”
