Ballerina Bunny – April 2014

Ballerina Bunny has just finished visiting all of the Cockburn Libraries. Success Spearwood, and Coolbellup She lit her Storytelling candle and then told an excellent story about Mother Bunny’s baby bunnies all trying to be the new Easter Bunny (there is a new one every year, you know). Jackie French

I was lucky enough to hear Jackie French talk last night at the State Library. She is a passionate speaker and was fascinating to listen to, especially what she had to say about finding THE book that will turn a child into a reader. I can’t remember a time before I loved to read but given that I used to teach I have seen kids suddenly find that book, that topic, that rings true with them and that they simply want to know more about. Dr Seuss would have been 110 on March 2nd. The week leading up to it was a very exciting week at the library as we celebrated SeussWeek – a week dedicated to the books of Dr Seuss. Spearwood LEGO Club – March 2014

Spearwood LEGO Club was held on Friday afternoon and we had some amazing creations made on Friday by the children that did come along.
