What’s happening at Cockburn Libraries in August?
I’ve always wanted to know how to play Mahjong. The sound of the clicking tiles and people chatting and laughing has always attracted me. From what I’ve heard it’s a game that’s good for your memory and stimulates and provides a great work out for the brain. It’s also great for socialising and interaction. On the 12th of August from 2.30 to 4.30, Cockburn Libraries will begin a series of four consecutive Mahjong workshops at the new Coolbellup Library (90 Cordelia Avenue, Coolbellup). The workshops, led by Bev Priest, will be held in Coolbellup Library’s new meeting room so you’ll have a quiet space to concentrate and learn the basic skills. After these sessions you’ll be able to play Mahjong at all of the Cockburn Libraries. But you’ll have to hurry as there are only a few places left. Bookings are essential – book online or phone 94113800. Free refreshments provided.
Have you ever been to have your eyes tested and had an air puff test for glaucoma? What is glaucoma and how does this test pick up any problems?
