“Travelling – it leaves you speechless then turns you into a storyteller.”
My yearning for travel began when I was a very young girl. My parents are both immigrants from Italy and so were my Grandparents. My Grandparents came to Australia to escape the aftermath of World War 2 in the 1940’s and of course the ongoing issues of economic depression. They left behind their home, their family, friends and the culture. Since I was 4 years old I have travelled back to Italy and endured the 21 hour plane ride on many occasions to visit my family.
In 2014 I had an amazing opportunity to quit my job and travel the world for four months. I travelled to a range of places including America, Canada, Europe and the United Kingdom. However, the place I fell in love with the most was Italy. Why did I fall in love with Italy? I fell in love with the food, the lifestyle, the culture and the kindness of people. But most of all the history and the uniqueness of what this beautiful country has to offer.
This blog is part of a four part series about the wonderful country of Italy. I will endeavor to continue to add to this blog and share my travel stories, experiences and photos with you all.
Here is a sneak peek of where my family comes from:
