Storytime Book of the Month for May – The Very Cranky Bear
There are many ways to enlarge your child’s world. Love of books is the best of all.

The Very Cranky Bear
is a delightful tale of four friends – Moose, Lion, Zebra and Sheep – who on this particular cold and wet day find a cave to play in. But it doesn’t take long for them to discover that they are not the only ones inside the cave. Their card game is interrupted by the roar of a very cranky bear who chases the four friends back out into the rain. Being woken from his slumber would make any bear cranky!
The animal friends believe that if they can come up with a way to cheer up the cranky bear that he will let them back in. However, their plan fails and makes the bear even crankier. That is, until sheep comes up with an idea.
Zebra, Moose and Lion tried to cheer up Bear by thinking of what cheers them up. It is Sheep who thinks of what Bear might like.
This fun and engaging tale is perfect for reading aloud. The rhyming text flows, the illustrations are bold and colourful and the children are sure to enjoy all the roaring too.
**The Very Cranky Bear is the book for the 2012 National Simultaneous Storytime, happening on Wednesday 23 May at 11am**
