      Hi Sarah,
Currently the only after hours returns chute available is at our Spearwood branch.
      Thanks.

  2. Is it ever quiet in here? I have been here a few times and there are always people talking like they aren’t in a library. Possibly a few more quiet rooms would help those who are there to study and not socialise.

      Hi Shar,
We do have quiet areas of the library and do encourage people to talk quietly but public libraries do not exist as a space for pure academic silence. There are quieter places around the library, the magazine room and open area left of the entrance (that faces the foyer), for example.
At the moment there are a high number of students using the library studying for exams so the level of noise has been higher than usual at the back of the library, which is normally the quietest.
Next time you are in the library and feel that the level of noise is too high please approach our staff and we will assess the situation.

      Hi Alex,
We have a number of areas where you can sit and study. We have study tables with access to power and study corrals as well. There are also a number of tables around the library.
We hope you come down and find something that suits.

  4. There are two things that I am looking for in the new library.

    1. Books being categorised by their genre, with a little sticker on their spine i.e. mystery, thriller, fantasy, historic, romance etc. not just fiction in author alphabetically.

    2. The computer system to tell me when I have borrowed a book in the past.

      Hi Peter,
Adult fiction books are categorised by genre at both Coolbellup and the new Success Libraries. There is a sticker on the spines to let you know what section the book belongs to and you will find the category on the record when searching in the catalogue.
As for being notified if a book has been borrowed by your previously there is a notification when you attempt to borrow a book that you have had before – this is the same at all Cockburn Libraries.
We hope you enjoy browsing through the new library.
      Regards,
      Jessica Donald
