Library and Information Week is the annual celebration of libraries and people who work in Australian libraries and other professional information services. The first Australian Library Week was held in 1968, and become Library and Information Week in 2000.

Learn how to protect yourself on the internet and keep your personal data secure. Create secure passwords that are still memorable. Learn how to check for bugs, how to trigger a manual scan and to check for signs of infection. For laptops, iPads and adroid tablets too. Presented by Craig Johns.

This seminar will provide parents with the knowledge and skills required to help them guide their children towards safe online use. It will explore some of the most popular social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, SnapChat, Instagram, AskFm & Kik Messenger and the risks and benefits associated with their use. Kim will present key strategies parents can employ to help minimise the risks. This seminar will be highly visual and informal with questions and discussions encouraged. Also Cockburn Libraries will once again be participating in National Simultaneous Storytime, Australia biggest storytime event which happens simultaneously at hundreds of libraries, schools and playgroups across the country. National Simultanoues Storytime happens on Wednesday 21 May, 10.30 @ Coolbellup Library. Once again this year Mayor Logan Howlett will be the special guest storyteller.
