Be prepared for an avalanche of laughs because this is a comedy with a twist!
Like many of our favourite shows and movies, Last man on Earth is set in a post-apocalyptic world. However, this show brings a whole new dimension to The End. There are no dead bodies, no zombies, no gore and guts, simply one man with an abundance of supplies; art, food and alcohol.
Phil Miller (Will Forte) is the last man on Earth. He has traveled America for two years and found no one. Solitude has its perks. There is nobody to tell him what to do and what not to do. A pool of alcohol? Brilliant idea. Stealing the arts from the most renowned museums to decorate the toilet? Of course. No shaving? There is no doubt about it. However, after a while a man has certain needs that his array of tennis, volley, basket and golf balls with drawn faces cannot supply. As he is about to end his life, smoke rises on the horizon. Fire means mankind. Will he discover friends, foes or will he remain the last man on Earth? That is the question.
The whole show is comedy at its best. Phil’s desperation is subject to great fun. We have no idea what happened to the world and it is not relevant. This planet is not hostile nor violent. It is not bloody. It is simply entertaining, creative and really impressive. Will Forte is hilarious.
I won’t spoil it for you but be prepared for crazy twists and turns. This is one show you won’t want to miss. And for the busy people out there, the episodes are only 20 min long. It is perfect for a quick laugh. That is if you can stop watching. I dare you.
