30 Most Popular Non Fiction Books of 2016

Cooking & healthy eating books dominate, as I Quit Sugar tops the list of 30 most borrowed non fiction books from Cockburn Libraries in 2016.

Sugar is still bad in 2016. For the second year in a row Sarah Wilson’s guide to quitting sugar was the most borrowed non fiction book of 2016.  The Top 5 includes four books about removing sugar from your diet, including a second Sarah Wilson book, I quit sugar : simplicious.  In another repeat of 2015, Pete Evans again takes second place with his paleo cookbook, Family food .

While books about cooking and healthy eating make up over half the books in the Top 30, you were reading other things as well. The highest placed biography,  a new addition to the  list in 2016, was Magda Szubanski’s highly regarded memoir, Reckoning (which also won a swag of book awards in 2016), and  Bill Bryson’s first new travel book travel book in fifteen years, The road to Little Dribbling : more notes from a small island, found itself in the Top 10. Rhonda Byrne certainly knows the secret to getting her book borrowed from the library, with  The secret once again appearing on the list  even though it was published over 10 years ago.
